Ingredients

  • Parboiled idli rice - 600 gram
  • sprouted black gram - 100 gm
  • sprouted fenugreek - 10gm
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Soak whole black gram dhal in water 5-6 hours and drain the water. Allow it for 5-6 hours to sprout.
  2. Remove the skin partially.
  3. Then grind the dhal and rice separately and mix together with required salt .
  4. Allow the batter to ferment and prepare idli with fermented batter .
  5. Groundnut chuttney and sambar are good combination for traditional idli.
  6. It will be very soft  like flower.
  7. Traditional idli is rich in protein, calcium, vitamin-B complex etc. It mitigates the elevated cholesterol levels.
