Ingredients
- Parboiled idli rice - 600 gram
- sprouted black gram - 100 gm
- sprouted fenugreek - 10gm
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Soak whole black gram dhal in water 5-6 hours and drain the water. Allow it for 5-6 hours to sprout.
- Remove the skin partially.
- Then grind the dhal and rice separately and mix together with required salt .
- Allow the batter to ferment and prepare idli with fermented batter .
- Groundnut chuttney and sambar are good combination for traditional idli.
- It will be very soft like flower.
- Traditional idli is rich in protein, calcium, vitamin-B complex etc. It mitigates the elevated cholesterol levels.
