• In first trimester ginger based recipes are good.
  • During first trimester liquid diet will be easily digestable- Ginger syrup, fruit juices, vegetable soup, thin butter milk etc.
  • Avoid too much of  coffee and tea.
  • Avoid soft cheese and fried items.
  • Avoid snacks in between the meals.
  • Avoid half fermented curd.
  • Avoid too much of garlic in cooking.
  • Don’t refrigerate the curd as it will lose its probiotic actions.
  • Avoid half boiled egg and take fully boiled egg.
  • Avoid all kind of animal liver which is very much rich in vitamin- A which may leads to toxicity.
  • Always take neatly cleaned and fully cooked meat, poultry, fish etc.
  • Milk is good for high BP pregnant women.
  • High BP pregnant women should avoid spinach and fenugreek leaves.
  • Fruits are rich in carbohydrate. So Gestational diabetic patients should take care, while taking fruits.
  • Steamed foods, Idly and Dhoklas – good for gestational pregnancy.
